Who We Are

Set up by the friends and family of Joe Strummer in the year after his death, we seek to reflect Joe’s unique contribution to the music world by offering support, resources and performance opportunities to artists who would not normally have access to them. We are based in west London and we’re a UK registered charity & totally independent non-political music charity.

What We Do

We reach out to music projects around the globe, such as WAYout Project in Sierra Leone. We also work with bands and musicians here in the UK to help get their music recorded and we provide a platform for them to showcase their music. We also put on the odd gig or two here in London.

In Action

Recent projects have been to install a recording studio and provide instruments and training to WAYout project in Sierra Leone, set up a music room in Tilinanu, Malawi as well as rehearsal rooms in Belfast, London with more planned.

“As a DIY band starting out you don’t need a record company, you don’t even need a management company. You just need Strummerville. They have helped us out and advised us a lot over the last year. Never did the work done by a charity more befit the spirit of it’s founder!” – Gaoler’s Daughter

Support Strummerville

We need your support. 85p in every £1 donated to us goes directly into supporting new music, nurturing new talent and developing projects and programmes. All of which offer opportunities to people through music who would not normally have access to this type of help.
