A Melodically focused and bass line driven, 3 piece originating from rural Kent: The Laurels are an alternative Rock and Roll band inspired by, and reminiscent of the Garage Rock bands of the mid 60s. They were brought together by a mutual friend in that unforgettable scorching summer of 2006, and have continued to learn and grow together – never looking back.
Sharing a penchant for poetic melodic music, The Laurels are:
• Jack Hellyer (27) – Singer / Songwriter / Guitarist
• Ryan Keane (26) – Bassist
• Paul Maingard (27) – Drummer
Their main influences within the specific genres they identify with are: Oasis, The Beatles, The Seeds, Bob Dylan and The Libertines.
Fully dedicated to the music and eager to gain as much live stage experience as possible, The Laurels play as often as they can in and around London. Recent and frequent venues include The Boarderline, The Dublin Castle and The Barfly. With a now solid foundation, experience, and a great insight as to where they see themselves going as a band, The Laurels are now looking to play even more gigs, gain radio airplay and emerge themselves into the music business fulltime.
